High altitude vines from the Sierra de Yerga mountains, demanding soils and significant diurnal temperature variations produce some genuinely remarkable fruit. Very traditional with fine, beautiful and quite tight oak. There’s no caricature vanilla oak here just a beautifully integrated spice complimenting the fine fruit and the mellowness from some attractive bottle age. For me, it is between this and the San Felice Chianti Classico for Christmas day honours - both are bang in the middle of their drinking window and drinking fantastically.
2015 while vintage lasts.
